“How Much Longer” is a song that was born after a phone call with an old friend. He and I have shared similar experiences in life—ups and downs, hard-fought battles for sobriety, and a true dedication to musical creativity. During the reflective conversation, he said to me, “I just thought we’d be closer to our dreams by now.”  This hit me like a bolt of lightning. I made the realization that the vast majority of human beings very rarely get to shine their true light due to many different circumstances. Though this song has its melancholy origins, I found that it ended up more of an anthem for taking opportunities when they present themselves and having faith in your own inner voice of truth.
